Student Age Range: 5-9 Years
General Developmental/Instructional Level:
- Range of functioning in specific domains: Readiness to Grade 1
- Specific and pervasive developmental disorders/disabilities including autism spectrum disorders
Specific Needs, Disabilities, Treatments & Programming Methods:
- Deficits in two or more domains: academic, social, communication
- Programming staff : student ratios of 1:2 to meet educational goals
- Intensive focus on social-communication and cognitive skills, with utilization of augmentative communication systems and behavioral techniques that address individual learning styles
Entrance Criteria:
- Continuation of public school placement for elementary school children with substantial communication and learning disabilities or autism spectrum and pervasive developmental disorders
- Needs in the domains of communication, attention, and behavior that can be met with 1:2 programming ratios
Exit Criteria:
- General developmental functioning consistent with less-restrictive programming
- Ability to acquire skills in a less-specialized and less-intensive learning environment

3. ELEMENTARY COMMUNICATION & PDD

Student Age Range: 8-11 Years

- Specific and pervasive developmental disorders/disabilities including autism spectrum disorder

- Intensive focus on pre-academic and academic, social-communication and cognitive skills, with utilization of transdisciplinary methods and behavioral techniques that address individual learning styles
Entrance Criteria:
- Continuation of public school placement for elementary school children with substantial communication and learning disabilities or autism spectrum and pervasive developmental disorders
- Needs in the domains of academic learning, communication, attention, and behavior that can be met with 1:2 programming ratios
Exit Criteria:
- General functioning consistent with less-restrictive programming
- Ability to acquire skills in a less-specialized and less-intensive learning environment

- Needs in the domains of academic learning, communication, functional life skills, attention, and behavior that can be met with 1:2 programming ratios

- General functioning consistent with less-restrictive programming
- Ability to acquire skills in a less-specialized and less-intensive learning environment

- Community-based Vocational Skills Training

- Needs in the domains of academic learning, communication, attention, and behavior that can be met with 1:2 programming ratios
