1. INTEGRATED EARLY CHILDHOOD SPECIAL NEEDS PROGRAM
Location: 137 Walnut Street, Stoughton, MA 02072
Student Age Range: 3-5 Years
General Developmental/Instructional Level:
- General functioning in the range of 36 to 60 months
- Specific conditions and requirements, including:
- Pervasive developmental disorders or delays
- Developmental language and learning disorders
- Medical needs/physical handicaps
Specific Needs, Disabilities, Treatments & Programming Methods:
Atypical development, autism, or other pervasive developmental disabilities and autism spectrum disorders
- Developmental communication disorders, including mildly atypical development, with related difficulties with motor systems, attentional controls, and language development
- Physical and medical needs requiring specialized care and closely supervised participation in a community preschool, despite normal cognition and social skills
- Programming in context of integrated community early childhood program attended by typically developing preschool children, with individual/small-group instruction at developmental levels
Entrance Criteria:
- First public school program for young children with low-incidence special educational/medical needs
- Needs can be met with staff: student programming ratios of 1:2 to 1:4 with individualized participation in regular community preschool program
Exit Criteria:
- Kindergarten readiness, or readiness to acquire pre-Kindergarten skills in a preschool program of lower intensity
- Adequate social interaction skills for less-restrictive environment
- Able to participate and acquire skills in lower-structure environment
