- General functioning in the range of PreKindergarten to Grade 2
- Specific conditions and requirements, including:
- Pervasive developmental disorders
- Cognitive impairment
- Communication, language and learning disorders
General Developmental/Instructional Level
- Collaborative/public school program for primary/elementary-age children with low-incidence special education needs
- Needs can be met with staff: student programming ratios of 1:2 to 1:3 with individualized inclusion in mainstream classes
- Needs can be met, and behavior managed, in mainstream setting with programming ratio of 1:3
Entrance Criteria
- Atypical development, autism, or other pervasive developmental disabilities and autism spectrum disorders
- Developmental communication disorders, including mildly atypical development, with related difficulties with motor systems, attentional controls, and language development
- Specially designed tailored instruction in all developmental domains
- Individualized services include intensive work with communication skills, sensory-motor integration therapy, guided social learning, and adaptive gross motor groups

- Readiness to acquire skills in a next-level program of lower intensity
- Adequate social interaction skills for less-restrictive environment
- Able to participate and acquire skills in lower-structure environment
