- Skills development in range 6 months to 4 years
- Severe or profound developmental disabilities; multiply-handicapped
General Developmental/Instructional Level
- First or continuation of public school placement for young children with severe or profound developmental disabilities and functional handicaps
- Needs in the domains of physical disability and medical support that can be met in a public school environment with intensive staff:student programming ratio
Entrance Criteria
- Mental retardation
- Cerebral palsy
- Visual impairment
- Seizure disorder
- Hearing impairment
- Other central nervous system disorders
- Intensive staff:student ratio; nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy personnel to meet developmental, communication, functional, and health goals
Specific Needs, Disabilities, Interventions & Programming Methods
- Transition to secondary school program by age 12
- Medical or social context requiring more restrictive environment
